(Hagersville) – June is Pride Month, and West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) is proud to show its support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Month recognizes the impact that Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex and Asexual (2SLGBTQIA+) have had in the world. It is also a time to acknowledge their history, the hardships they have endured, and the progress that has been made.

WHGH is committed to celebrating Pride Month and demonstrating our dedication to a kind, accepting, and inclusive culture for all.

To mark this occasion, we will be raising the Pride flag at WHGH. This flag, created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker and later revised by Daniel Quasar in 2018 and Valentino Vecchietti in 2021, remains an international symbol of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, reflecting its diversity and unity.

We believe it is important that everyone who enters our hospital feels valued, safe, and cared for. At WHGH, we strive to treat one another with dignity, respect, and compassion, as we value equity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

We are committed to being inclusive and acknowledging the 2SLGBTQIA+ community’s right to equitable care and treatment.
