Acute Care

West Haldimand General Hospital’s (WHGH) has a twenty three (23) bed Inpatient Unit located on the third floor of the Hospital. The In Patient Unit provides acute care services to admitted patients, aged 18 and older, requiring further diagnosis, stabilization and treatment. The unit also offers palliative care.

During your stay your care may be provided by either your family Doctor or a physician assigned to you if your family doctor does not currently provide services to our In-Patient Unit. This along with members of the inter-professional health care team will allow us to optimize your care.

Our health care team is dedicated to promoting the maximum possible independence and healthiest lifestyle for all patients on the unit throughout their hospital stay. We will also work with you to ensure your time in hospital is only as long as necessary for your health care needs.
