The West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) Board of Directors is seeking to recruit passionate and visionary individuals to fill four (4) vacant positions. WHGH is not just addressing today’s healthcare needs but continues to be a beacon for healthcare and a source for hope and comfort to Haldimand and surrounding communities. As a Board Member, your insight and leadership could be the catalyst for transformative change and creating a compelling vision for healthcare that prioritizes patient and family needs above all.

To take your place at the forefront of healthcare innovation with WHGH, interested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter and resume, accompanied by a completed application form highlighting past board experience, areas of interest and how you envision contributing to our mission to ensure access to quality health care for everyone who enters our doors.

We welcome applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds, especially those with experience in quality, risk management and patient safety, finance, health or legal expertise, though it’s not mandatory. Our board values diverse perspectives and skills to guide our healthcare decisions effectively.

While maintaining a skills-based Board is our priority, WHGH also strives for the composition of the Board to reflect the diversity of the communities served. Specifically, to address current needs, we are seeking representation from Indigenous communities

Duties & Responsibilities of Directors: Those applying should expect to devote approximately 7-10 hours per month of their time on hospital business to participate in regular monthly board meetings – both in person and virtually, (usually 9/year), committee meetings (average 6/year) an annual retreat as well as social/fundraising events as required. Reliable internet service is required. We offer a hybrid model for meetings, allowing both in-person and virtual attendance to accommodate all members.
