Laboratory
The Laboratory at West Haldimand General Hospital is staffed by Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians working behind the scenes to provide the testing results that allow the physicians to treat and diagnose your medical needs.
Our Mission is to provide quality healthcare and promote good health to our diverse population, in collaboration with our community partners.
The on-site laboratory supports all the demands required from the emergency department, in-patient unit as well as surgical services. Hematology, Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine testing are all available 24 -7, 365 days of the year. There is an arrangement with Brant Community Healthcare System to provide any testing required by our physicians that may not be offered on site at West Haldimand General Hospital.
Quality Policy Statement
The West Haldimand General Hospital Laboratory Program is committed to the development, implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System (QMS) that will support the sustainability of high standards of professional practice while monitoring, measuring and analyzing processes for effectiveness and continuous improvement.
The Quality Management System will assist in the provision of quality laboratory services to physicians and other healthcare professionals in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Laboratory staff are required to familiarize themselves with and perform activities within the scope of the Quality Management System in order to meet or exceed client needs and to ensure an effective laboratory operation.
