West Haldimand General Hospital unveils 2025-2028 Strategic Plan
Hagersville, ON – West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) is proud to announce the release of its 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, along with updated Mission, Vision, and Values statements. Developed in collaboration with approximately 500 stakeholders—including patients, staff, physicians, partners, business leaders, and volunteers—the plan reflects the evolving needs and priorities of those we serve. WHGH extends its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed their insights and valuable advice.
Since our last strategic plan was introduced in 2018, WHGH has undergone profound changes. The hospital faces increasing demands, greater patient complexity, workforce challenges, and financial pressures—all in a post-COVID-19 world. The new 2025-2028 plan, which evolved under the guidance and direction of the Board of Directors, is designed to meet these challenges while ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
“WHGH’s Strategic Plan is our roadmap for the future, guiding us toward better health for everyone we serve,” said Haley McIntosh, WHGH Board Chair. “This plan was shaped by the voices of our patients, families, community members, and WHGH team, who shared what matters most to them about healthcare. Thank you to everyone who took part in focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and our online survey—your input was invaluable.”
“”WHGH’s last strategic plan, launched in 2018, served us well—guiding our hospital through seven years of growth, change, and even a pandemic,” says Todd Stepanuik, President and CEO of WHGH. “As our community continues to grow, so does the demand for hospital services. That’s why we took this opportunity to reassess, refine, and build on our plan to shape a strong path forward. Our commitment remains the same—delivering the high-quality care WHGH is known for. At the same time, we recognize the incredible dedication of our staff and are committed to supporting them as they carry out this important work.”
