Volunteers needed at West Haldimand General Hospital

September 28, 2022 – West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) is seeking community members interested in volunteering to enhance the patient experience. Currently, WHGH is looking for individuals who are available during day hours to assist at the information desk.

The information desk service provides courteous and friendly reception to families, patients, visitors, and staff. Volunteers provide information of a non-confidential nature to staff and visitors.

  • Ensures patients and visitors sanitize their hands and are given a hospital-issued mask upon entry to the hospital.
  • Provide information related to patient room numbers, visiting hours
  • Direct visitors to hospital departments or offices
  • Always provide service in a polite and courteous manner

WHGH is also seeking volunteers to assist at the coffee shop, the Elder Life Program on the Inpatient Unit as well as a greeter position. 

Every day, volunteers add a caring touch to help make our patients and families’ experience the best it can be. Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds but have one thing in common: a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives and healthcare experiences of patients, residents, clients, and their families.
