Ron’s No Frills launches fundraiser to help purchase life-saving equipment at West Haldimand General Hospital

(WHGH) Friday, July 15, 2022 – For the second straight year, Ron’s No Frills in Hagersville is doing what it can to help raise much-needed funds to purchase vital medical equipment for West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH). 

From Friday July 15, to Monday August 1, cashiers at Ron’s No Frills will be collecting donations at the tills to help WHGH purchase a Coagulation Analyzer, which is used to test for potential heart attack-inducing blood clots. 

During a similar fundraiser last year, the team at Ron’s No Frills was able to raise more than $5,600 to help the West Haldimand Hospital & Healthcare Foundation (WHHHF) purchase medical equipment for the hospital. Last month, Ron’s No Frills generously donated a meat smoker, which hospital volunteers raffled off. It raised an additional $3,000 for WHGH.

“The level of support we have received from Ron’s No Frills has been nothing short of extraordinary,” said Lisa Hostein, Executive Director of West Haldimand Hospital & Healthcare Foundation. “Ron’s No Frills and their wonderful customers went the distance to raise critical funds for WHGH. “I want to thank Ron’s No Frills and its customers for their partnership and commitment to advance quality care close to home. A strong community hospital is only possible through strong community support. We are extremely grateful.”

While the province provides funds for hospital operations, the community’s support is vital for the funding of hospital equipment.
