Take Two Minutes. Help Save a Life
Every three days in Ontario, someone dies waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Yet only about 35 per cent of people in Ontario are registered organ and tissue donors.
At West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH), we recognize the important role organ and tissue donation plays in saving and improving lives.
Since partnering with the Trillium Gift of Life Network in 2022:
- WHGH has supported 13 tissue donors
- In the past year alone, three tissue donors helped others
These donations have made a meaningful difference for patients and families.
One organ donor can save up to eight lives and help up to 75 more through tissue donation.
Registering as an organ and tissue donor takes just two minutes, but it could make a life-changing difference for someone in need.
Right now, about 4.7 million people in Ontario are registered donors. In Haldimand County (West), nearly 45 per cent of people have signed up.
Most people support organ donation, but many have not yet registered. Registering today can help close that gap.
