Ron and Nancy Clark Foundation awards $377,350 to help WHGH improve care across every department

Hagersville, ON — A generous $377,350 grant from the Ron and Nancy Clark Foundation will help West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) improve care for every patient, in every department.

This transformational grant — one of the largest in WHGH’s history — allows the hospital to invest in new equipment, smarter diagnostic tools, and upgrades that make care more comfortable and accessible.

“This grant touches every part of our hospital,” said Lisa Hostein, Executive Director of the West Haldimand General Hospital Foundation. “It means safer care for patients, better tools for staff, and a more comfortable environment for families. We’re so grateful for this incredible support.”

The grant will directly support important upgrades in three priority areas:

  1. Essential equipment for safer care

New stretchers, hospital beds, and patient monitors will help care teams respond quickly and work more safely. A new point-of-care system will also improve how teams collect and share patient information — helping staff stay connected and informed.

  1. Smarter tools for diagnosis and treatment

New diagnostic equipment will help physicians and staff make faster and more accurate decisions. This includes:

  • A slit lamp for eye exams
  • A high-resolution PACS monitor for reviewing scans
  • An HL7 interface to safely share health data
  • An upgraded endoscopy system to improve internal procedures
  1. Comfort and accessibility upgrades for patients

Funding will also support:

  • New mattresses, overbed tables, and bariatric chairs
  • Four patient lifts, including models for larger patients
  • New waiting room chairs to make visits more comfortable for families and guests

This transformational grant from the Ron and Nancy Clark Foundation ensures WHGH can continue to provide high-quality care close to home — and shows the power of local support to drive real change.
