The West Haldimand General Hospital COVID, Cold, and Flu Care Clinic will remain open until the end of June
The West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) COVID, Cold, and Flu Care Clinic (CCFCC) will remain in operation until June 30, 2023. The CCFCC was set to close on Friday, April 28, due to the discontinuation of funding.
The WHGH COVID, Cold, and Flu Care Clinic is a medical clinic that can test, assess, and provide treatment for people with COVID-19 and other cold and flu-like illnesses to ensure individuals receive the right care, in the right place. The clinic is staffed by physicians, nurses, and medical professionals. WHGH’s CCFCC now serves as the primary screening and testing location for COVID-19 in the region.
Since its launch on December 7, 2022, the CCFCC has cared for over 1,100 patients.
“The CCFCC has relieved pressures in our emergency department while providing patients and families with a more convenient option that offers shorter wait times’, said AnneMarie VanSickle, Clinical Director of the CCFCC.” We are grateful we can continue offering this valuable service to our community.”
The WHGH CCFCC operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Patients can book an appointment by calling 905-768-3311 ext. 1113.
“We have been unwavering in our commitment to protecting the health and well-being of the communities we serve, and we are very grateful to meet the ongoing needs of our communities,” said Kim Mullins, Vice-President Clinical and Chief Nursing Executive.
Please note that COVID-19 testing is also available at community pharmacies, and the prescription drug Paxlovid will continue to be available through family physicians.
