Board of Directors overview
The WHGH is governed by a sixteen-person Board of Directors, made up of twelve volunteer elected Directors and four ex-officio Directors. This team of skilled, experienced, and committed members of our community provides essential leadership, stewardship, and oversight to WHGH, sets the strategic direction, and monitors organizational and strategic risk.
Board members have a unique opportunity to help shape health care for their community. We invite applications from strategic thinking leaders who reside in the area and are interested in using their expertise to make a difference in the health and well-being of our communities.
Prospective candidates require a commitment to the Hospital and the community, with an awareness of issues facing West Haldimand General Hospital and the healthcare system in general. Those applying should expect to devote approximately 7-10 hours per month of their time on hospital business to attend regular monthly board meetings (usually 9/year), committee meetings (average 6/year) an annual retreat as well as social/fundraising events as required.
Directors are appointed for a three-year term for a maximum of nine years.
